WellBased

  • The WellBased project, led by Valencia and coordinated by Las Naves, aims to design, implement, and evaluate a plan to reduce energy poverty and its impacts on the health and well-being of the city’s vulnerable population.
  • The project is carried out in 6 pilots across 6 European cities in Spain, Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Latvia, Macedonia, and France.

In Valencia, the plan is being implemented in the neighborhoods of Algirós, Camins al Grau, Poblats Marítims, Benimaclet, Orriols, Torrefiel, Benicalap, and Patraix.

The Valencia pilot covers 260 households located in these eight neighborhoods, involving a total of 354 people, who are divided into two groups: a control group and an intervention group.

ACTIONS

  1. Some of the actions use technology (Internet of Things) to monitor the effects on household comfort and well-being, while other measures involve conducting energy audits and are aimed at improving energy efficiency.
  2. Community interventions are carried out based on the right to energy, and personalized care is even provided to the population, along with healthcare support to address the psychological consequences of poverty.
