WHO WE ARE
València Innovation Capital is the City of Valencia's innovation strategy: the vehicle through which the city identifies its challenges, tests new solutions and scales those that work, always in the service of people.
We work through an open innovation and public-private collaboration model, connecting the public administration with businesses, startups, universities, technology centres, investors and citizens to tackle Valencia's real-world challenges together.
HOW WE WORK
The innovation journey
We don't stop at the pilot stage. We support every solution throughout its entire journey:
- We identify the city's challenges and the needs of its public services.
- We test and validate solutions in real-life environments through the Urban Sandbox.
- We scale and implement what works through innovative public procurement.
Everything we do is driven by a clear focus on scalability: turning promising ideas into solutions that improve people's lives and strengthen the city's economy.
Organisational model
To deliver this approach, the València Innovation Capital team is structured around three areas:
València Innovation Ecosystem — We connect and strengthen Valencia's innovation ecosystem, bringing together businesses, startups, investors, universities, technology centres and public administration.
València Innovation Lab — The city as a living laboratory, where we design, test and validate innovative solutions (Valencia Urban Lab, Smart City Center and the Urban Sandbox).
València Innovation Alliance — We connect Valencia with the world through international partnerships that attract talent, investment and knowledge (València Nomads Hub and other initiatives).

This is where ideas become solutions and innovation comes to life to improve Valencia.
Las Naves
Las Naves is one of the main spaces driving the València Innovation Capital strategy. Located in the city’s maritime district, it is an environment open to experimentation, where European and local projects are developed to improve people’s quality of life and address urban challenges.
The building houses workspaces, laboratories, areas for events and activities, as well as a dedicated exhibition space.

La Harinera
La Harinera is an iconic building with an industrial heritage that has been refurbished to host new innovation-related activities. Today, it combines its historical value with a dynamic environment, integrated into the urban fabric and connected to Valencia’s evolution as a leading innovation hub.
The building is dedicated to strengthening the innovation ecosystem, hosting initiatives focused on open innovation, entrepreneurship and collaboration. From here, acceleration programmes and partnerships between companies, startups, institutions and citizens are promoted to develop solutions with real impact.
