Objective: Reduce the vulnerability of people over the age of 60 and people with disabilities during climate emergencies and disasters by improving the city’s preparedness, response and recovery.

Recent crises, such as the 2024 DANA floods, have highlighted the particular vulnerability of these groups, who accounted for a high proportion of the victims. In València, 21.3% of the population is over the age of 64, and 27.3% of them live alone, increasing their risk in emergency situations.

The project focuses on developing inclusive early warning protocols, specialised evacuation systems and technology-enabled neighbourhood support networks to combat unwanted loneliness and ensure that no one is left behind during times of crisis.

Today, the i-team València is working to shape the future of a more liveable, inclusive and resilient city.
