The Youth and Climate Action Valencia 2026 call offers grants of up to 5,000 USD to support climate action projects led by young people aged 15 to 24.
The initiative is part of the Youth Climate Action Fund (YCAF), driven by Bloomberg Philanthropies, and seeks to support projects that address Valencia’s climate challenges and contribute to building a more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive city.

What type of projects are we looking for?
You can submit a proposal that contributes to addressing Valencia’s climate challenges. The project must be developed primarily within the municipality of Valencia and be related to climate change mitigation or adaptation, urban resilience, environmental awareness, or youth participation.
The call covers four areas of action:
01. Adaptation to extreme heat and resilient urban spaces
Projects to improve the well-being of children and adolescents in the face of high temperatures and promote healthier, safer urban spaces adapted to climate change.
02. Preparedness for climate emergencies
Initiatives that help citizens and communities prepare for and respond to heat waves, floods, heavy rainfall, and other climate risks, with special attention to vulnerable groups.
03. Climate governance and youth participation
Projects that promote the participation of young people and citizens in identifying climate challenges and designing solutions, through participatory labs, networks, workshops, meetings, or other initiatives.
04. Blue economy and coastal protection
Proposals related to the protection of beaches and coastal and marine ecosystems, waste and plastic reduction, biodiversity, the circular economy, and raising awareness about coastal climate challenges.
Does your project combine several of these areas? You can also submit cross-cutting proposals. The chosen category is for classification purposes and does not limit the project content.
Who can participate?
The application must be submitted by a legally constituted entity, such as an association, foundation, nonprofit organization, charitable organization, or public entity.
Individuals and for-profit private companies cannot submit an application directly.
But there is a fundamental requirement: the project must be youth-led.
Young people aged 15 to 24 must have proposed, designed, and be leading the project. When the application is submitted by a youth-serving organization or other eligible entity, at least two young people in this age range must participate, with an active and meaningful role in decision-making, implementation, and project monitoring.
How much can you receive?
The call has total funding of 40,000 USD.
The amount allocated to each project will depend on the score obtained:

Grants are expressed in dollars in the guidelines, but will be awarded and paid in euros, applying the official exchange rate of the Bank of Spain established in the call.
How to submit your project?
Applications are submitted exclusively online, using the form provided for the call.
Submission deadline: until November 2, 2026, inclusive.
The deadline will begin the day after publication of the call extract in the Official Gazette of the Province of Valencia (BOP). Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
