The City Council is promoting the integration of international talent through the “València Nomads Hub” project

  • The Valencia Innovation Capital program aims to encourage international professionals already living in the city to actively integrate into Valencia’s economy, culture, and innovation ecosystem
  • The Hub has opened an in-person service center at La Harinera, launched a digital community that connects directly with the local community, and signed more than 20 agreements with stakeholders in the Valencian ecosystem

The City of Valencia, through Valencia Innovation Capital, continues to strengthen its strategy for integrating international talent with “Valencia Nomads Hub,” an initiative focused on supporting and connecting qualified international professionals who have already chosen the city as a place to live and work. The Hub was created with a clear goal: to transform the established presence of international talent into a positive and structured impact for the city, fostering their genuine integration into the business, technological, academic, and social communities.

As part of this strategy, the Les Naus building hosted the event “València, the Ecosystem for Digital Nomads,” which brought together more than a hundred digital nomads, entrepreneurs, and representatives of the Valencian ecosystem. The event served to foster meaningful connections, promote the exchange of knowledge, and facilitate concrete avenues for collaboration.

Paula Llobet, the councilor for Tourism, Innovation, and Investment, emphasized that Valencia already has a significant community of international professionals living in the city. “Our challenge is to better integrate digital nomads. We want those who have already chosen Valencia to play an active role in our economy and cultural life, to collaborate with our companies, startups, and universities, and to generate shared value and a positive impact on the city,” Llobet said.

According to “València Nomads Hub,” the city has a well-established community of digital nomads, confirming that this phenomenon is now a structural reality in Valencia. Therefore, the city’s priority is to organize, connect, and integrate this community, preventing isolation and encouraging its participation in business, technology, cultural, and social projects.

Integration Infrastructure

In its first few months of operation, the Hub has launched an in-person service center at La Harinera, established a digital community that connects directly with the local ecosystem, developed a practical guide to facilitate the integration of international professionals, and signed more than 20 agreements with stakeholders in the Valencian ecosystem, thereby consolidating a stable infrastructure for support and connection in the city. The goal is to help international professionals connect with companies, startups, universities, technology hubs, and local communities, generating opportunities for collaboration, entrepreneurship, and shared innovation.

As Paula Llobet has pointed out, “the key is not the quantity, but the quality of integration. We want talent that is committed to the city, that participates in its economic and social development, and that helps strengthen our international standing as an innovative hub connected to the world.”

Panel Discussions

The event featured two panel discussions. The first, focused on Valencia as an ecosystem for digital nomads, featured Lodewijk Cuypers (Globexs and Honorary Consul of Belgium), Ángela Castelló (Startup Valencia), and Francesc Pons García (The Terminal Hub).

The second panel, focused on community integration, brought together Neeraj Manuja (Expats Valencia), Maya Middlemiss (Remote Resilience Hub & Remote Work Europe), and Artem Garnyshev (How2Spanish), who discussed the importance of cultural integration, language learning, and connecting with the local community as key factors for sustainable integration.

Through initiatives such as “Nomads Connect,” “València Nomads Hub” is establishing itself as a networking platform that transforms the presence of international talent into a real opportunity for the city’s growth, reinforcing a model based on integration, collaboration, and a positive impact on the local economy and ecosystem.
