València Game City and València Innovation Capital participated in Tokyo Game Show 2026, one of the leading international trade fairs for the video game industry, where they accompanied four studios and companies from the sector linked to the Valencian ecosystem: No Spoon, IPK Academy, Dunwich, Pizza Tomahawk, Nox Noctis, and ENCOM.

The Valencian presence in Japan was part of an internationalization initiative promoted by IVACE+i International and ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, allowing Valencian representatives to establish professional contacts, explore new collaboration opportunities, and approach the Japanese market.

The delegation’s agenda began with Spain Game Matsuri, a professional meeting linked to the Spanish and Japanese video game industries that created a space for presentation and connection between companies and professionals from both markets. Within the framework of this event, the Valencian studio Nox Noctis took part in a presentation aimed at the Japanese public and media, showcasing their work and bringing Valencian talent closer to the Asian audience.

Subsequently, the delegation continued its activity at the Tokyo Game Show, which is being held from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe.

Paula Llobet, City Councilor for Tourism, Innovation, and Investment Attraction, highlighted that “València’s presence at the Tokyo Game Show has allowed us to internationally showcase the talent and capacity of our studios and professionals while, at the same time, bringing them closer to a market as significant as the Japanese one. Internationalization is essential for our projects to grow, find new partners, and generate business opportunities.”

The Councilor also noted that “the collaboration with IVACE+i International and ICEX has allowed us to combine capabilities and make it easier for our studios to access new contacts, knowledge, and opportunities in a strategic market for the video game industry.”

Valencian studios and companies in the international market

The participation of No Spoon, IPK Academy, Dunwich, Pizza Tomahawk, Nox Noctis, and ENCOM has made it possible to showcase the activity of studios and companies linked to the Valencian video game sector in Japan.

València Game City accompanied these studios and companies in their approach to new markets and facilitated their connection with international professionals, companies, and potential partners.

During the Tokyo Game Show, València Game City maintained an extensive agenda of professional meetings with representatives from various international agents and ecosystems in the video game industry. The director of València Game City, María Tinoco, held meetings with Indie Hero (Brazil), Busan Indie Connect Festival (South Korea), We Make Realms (Brazil), Game for Companies (South Korea), Xsolla (USA), Gamersky (China), and Games London & London Games Festival (UK).

These meetings allowed València Game City to explore new avenues for collaboration, learn about other international ecosystems, and connect Valencian studios and companies with professionals, businesses, and organizations from different markets.

The presence at Spain Game Matsuri and Tokyo Game Show 2026 has thus allowed for the continued connection of Valencian studios and companies with major international markets and reinforced València’s projection as a city linked to innovation, technology, and the video game industry.
