  • The in-person sessions will culminate in a two-week international experience in Zagreb, Croatia, where participants will share what they have learned and solutions with rural communities across Europe
  • Female tech entrepreneurs will collaborate on a challenge related to post-storm economic recovery, with a special focus on strengthening local commerce

The La Harinera building is hosting the first edition of the international program The Break València. This course, designed to promote women’s entrepreneurship in the technology sector, will bring together twenty women from different parts of the country over the coming weeks. At the opening ceremony, Paula Llobet, the councilor for Innovation, who presided over the inauguration and welcomed the attendees, emphasized that these sessions “are an experience that will mark a turning point in your careers.”

The Break València is part of the European initiative The Break Fellowship, launched in collaboration with the School of Industrial Organization (EOI), the European Social Fund Plus, and the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, with the goal of promoting women’s leadership in strategic sectors through training, technical support, and international networking.

In the councilwoman’s words, The Break “is not just a training program; it is an ecosystem for personal growth and professional networking that will integrate these twenty women into a global community of more than a thousand female entrepreneurs from around the world.” The participants will work collaboratively on a challenge focused on post-storm economic recovery, with a special emphasis on strengthening local commerce.

The in-person sessions will take place every Wednesday at La Harinera and will culminate in a two-week international experience in Zagreb, Croatia, where participants will share what they have learned and solutions with rural communities in Europe.

Llobet also emphasized the city council’s firm commitment to “promoting women’s talent at every stage of life,” with programs ranging from Technovation Girls and STEM Talent Girl to initiatives such as DevWomen, FUTURA, and València Game City.

The councilwoman also highlighted the city’s current status as a hub for innovation and talent. “Valencia has climbed 52 spots in the global ranking of the most attractive cities for talent, now ranking 21st, ahead of cities such as Zaragoza, Málaga, Seville, and Bilbao, and just behind London,” she noted.

With a message of confidence and empowerment, Llobet concluded her remarks by encouraging the participants to continue their projects both within and outside the city: “Your presence here is no coincidence. You are determined women with ideas, energy, and vision. You are women who are here to change the rules of the game.”

The Break València has thus established itself as a key initiative within the municipal strategy “València Innovation Capital,” reinforcing the city’s commitment to women’s leadership, social innovation, and regional transformation through entrepreneurship.
