What does Roblox mean for the younger generations, and what opportunities does it open up for the industry, brands, and education? On Wednesday, October 28, València Game City will present the white paper “The Medium of a Generation — Roblox in the Spanish-Speaking World,” the first comprehensive study in Spanish dedicated to the consumption and market of this platform. The event will take place at La Harinera from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is organized in collaboration with the Valencia City Council, through Valencia Innovation Capital, as well as DeuSens and BrandNewVerse.
Roblox is an online video game and virtual experience creation platform where users not only play games but can also design their own games, explore digital worlds, and interact with others. Roblox has evolved beyond traditional video games to become a digital environment where millions of users play, socialize, and create their own experiences. Despite its popularity among younger generations, much of the professional analysis of the platform has been published in English, which has limited the availability of information specific to the Spanish-speaking market.
The new White Paper was created to fill that gap and offer a vision of an ecosystem that presents opportunities in areas such as video game development, entrepreneurship, brand communication, and digital literacy. The main findings will be unveiled for the first time during the conference in Valencia.
A Guide to Understanding the Roblox Ecosystem
The study was technically produced by DeuSens and BrandNewVerse and is organized into 25 chapters that explore what Roblox is, who uses the platform, and how its ecosystem works. It also analyzes the opportunities it offers brands, video game development, entrepreneurship in Spanish, educational applications, security, and future prospects.
Drawing on real-world examples and contributions from 18 experts, the document focuses on digital literacy, creativity, and employment. The goal is to help readers understand both the skills users can develop and the business and career opportunities that arise around this platform.
María Tinoco, head of València Game City, notes: “Roblox is a good example of how the ways we play, create, learn, and interact with technology are changing, especially among younger generations. That is precisely why, at València Game City, we believe it is not enough to simply analyze the opportunities it opens up for talent and the industry. We must also build knowledge that allows us to engage with these environments in a responsible, safe, and informed manner. Understanding its possibilities—but also its limits and risks—is essential for families, educators, institutions, businesses, and young people themselves. This White Paper was also created with that goal in mind: to help us better understand an ecosystem that is already part of the everyday reality of an entire generation.”
For his part, Álvaro Monzón, CEO and co-founder of DeuSens, notes: “Many brands have been wondering for some time whether Roblox is right for them. This study provides them, for the first time in Spanish, with the data they need to make an informed decision. Some of the results have surprised even those of us who work on the platform every day, and we’ll be sharing them in Valencia on October 28.”
Arturo Larrainzar, CEO of BrandNewVerse, adds: “A huge portion of the Roblox community speaks Spanish, but almost everything that had been written in depth about the platform was in English. Together with València Game City, we’ve made it possible to change that. At La Harinera, we’re going to share what we’ve discovered, and I think it’s going to be quite the talking point.”
Two panel discussions on talent, video games, and brands
The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the reception of attendees. At 6:25 p.m., María Tinoco will give the welcome address, and at 6:30 p.m., Álvaro Monzón and Arturo Larrainzar will present the main conclusions of the White Paper.
The program will continue with two panel discussions focused on career and business opportunities within the Roblox ecosystem.
At 7:00 p.m., “Making a Living on Roblox: Video Game Development on Roblox,” an event that will explore how to learn to develop video games on the platform and the paths available to turn that activity into a career, from self-taught learning to starting your own studio. Sergio López, Fabio “Fabiox99,” and Diego “KraoESP” will participate, with Arturo Larrainzar moderating.
At 8:00 p.m., “Brands & Gaming: How to Connect with New Generations Through Gaming” will take place—a roundtable discussion on brand strategies in the video game industry, the keys to connecting with Generations Alpha and Z, and initiatives developed in Spain. The discussion will feature Leire Bilbao, Álvaro Monzón, and Yurena Escobar, and will be moderated by María Tinoco.
At 9:00 p.m., there will be a question-and-answer session with the audience, followed by the closing of the event. Starting at 9:05 p.m., attendees will be able to enjoy refreshments and network with industry professionals in the courtyard adjacent to La Harinera.
