The opening ceremony featured an official welcome from Paula Llobet, Councilwoman for Tourism, Innovation, and Investment Attraction for the City of Valencia, and Nacho Mas, CEO of Startup Valencia, a partner organization of the program.

During his remarks, Llobet emphasized that “Valencia is building an increasingly robust and competitive entrepreneurial ecosystem, capable of attracting talent, fostering innovation, and creating new economic opportunities for the city.” In this regard, he noted that the Seed Startup Program “reinforces the city’s commitment to supporting local startups and building a favorable environment where innovative ideas can grow and become impactful business ventures.”

600,000 euros to boost startup growth

The program offers public funding totaling 600,000 euros, channeled through Seed Grants, with up to 25,000 euros available per startup, in addition to nine months of incubation and acceleration, which include specialized training, personalized mentoring, connections with investors, and access to international networks within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

In this second edition, 55 startups applied, of which 32 were ultimately selected to participate in the program.

The program takes place at La Harinera, one of the city’s leading hubs for innovative entrepreneurship, where participating startups will be able to carry out part of their work and connect with other players in Valencia’s tech ecosystem.

Boosting the city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem

The Seed Startup Program is part of the Valencia City Council’s 2025 Action Plan and falls under the “Valencia Innovation Ecosystem” strategic initiative, which aims to strengthen the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, facilitate the growth of new tech companies, and position the city as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in southern Europe.

The initiative is also part of the municipal strategy launched in 2023 with the creation of a public-private startup investment fund, developed in partnership with València Innovation Capital, with the goal of mobilizing investment, accelerating urban innovation, and fostering the city’s economic transformation.

During today’s working session, the team from Valencia Innovation Capital and Startup Valencia presented the participating startups with the program’s structure, opportunities for international networking, and the planned work arrangements for the coming months.
