The Project

This collaboration between Valencia Innovation Capital (VIC) and London College of Communication (UAL) invites 30 participants to re-read the city through an immersive lens. Drawing inspiration from Valencia’s festivities and cultural heritage, we will use different visual and sound techniques mixed with city-driven data sets to develop an immersive installation for the Plaza de la Reina.

  • Dates: 25–29 May 2026. (In-Person)
  • Time: Every day from 14:00-20:00
  • Venue: La Harinera & Las Naves, with site visits inside the city of Valencia.

We are building multidisciplinary teams

Teams will be made of participants from different creative backgrounds, but not limited to:

  • Artists, architects, engineers, theatre production specialists, projectionists, lighting technicians, programmers, engineers, specialists in electrical construction and fabrication, composers, sound designers, music technologists, audio engineers, dancers and performance artists.

What to Expect

The workshop follows a rapid prototyping and research-led making process. We will begin with a briefing and a site visit to the installation location. This is followed by intensive group sessions and technical breakouts focused on sound and visual development. The week concludes with final breakouts, a debrief on future plans, and a discussion of deliverables. Throughout the process, participants will have the opportunity to collaborate with creative practitioners and researchers from London College of Communication – University of the Arts London.

The workshop will be delivered in English.
