STEM Talent Girl Valencia Semi-Final Showcases Young Female Talent in Science and Technology

  • Five innovative projects stood out for their social impact in areas such as health, sustainability and inclusion.
  • The event highlighted the importance of education, mentoring and innovation in fostering STEM talent.

The Valencia semi-final of the STEM Talent Girl programme brought together young women with outstanding potential, who presented science- and technology-based projects demonstrating the talent, creativity and commitment of the next generation of STEM leaders.

During the event, five students stood out for the quality and innovative approach of their proposals: an app to learn sign language and promote inclusive communication; a biotechnology solution aimed at transforming waste into sustainable resources; a digital platform to showcase and promote young artistic talent; a study on the ethical challenges of gene editing and its global impact; and a health app focused on preventing migraines through lifestyle analysis.

These projects reflect the core objective of the STEM challenge: to encourage the development of solutions with real-world applications by combining scientific knowledge, critical thinking and innovation.

Presenting their projects before a professional jury also provided participants with a valuable learning opportunity, helping them strengthen essential skills such as communication, public speaking, critical thinking and analytical reasoning.

The organisers also recognised the key role played by the programme’s mentors, whose guidance is fundamental to the development of each project, as well as the contribution of the jury, whose evaluation and feedback enrich the participants’ learning experience.

The event once again highlighted the enormous potential of young female talent in STEM and its ability to create meaningful social impact, reinforcing Valencia’s commitment to promoting innovation and nurturing talent from an early age.
