Technovation Girls is the world’s largest international technology entrepreneurship programme for girls and young women. Delivered across the Valencian Community by Talent Growth Management Business and People, with the support of València Innovation Capital, the programme promotes STEAM careers and female leadership through the development of mobile applications that address real societal challenges.
Throughout the programme, participants learn coding, design, entrepreneurship and teamwork while creating technology-based solutions that can make a positive impact on their communities.
More than simply learning to code, Technovation Girls aims to unlock talent, creativity and confidence in the next generation of female innovators.
Who is it for
The programme is aimed at girls and young women aged 8 to 18 who are interested in technology, creativity, innovation or entrepreneurship. No previous programming experience is required.
Working in teams and supported by dedicated mentors, participants develop a mobile app that addresses a social or environmental challenge, combining technology, innovation and creative thinking.
Technovation Girls promotes an inclusive environment where girls discover new career opportunities, develop digital skills and strengthen key competences such as leadership, communication, problem-solving and teamwork.
What does the programme offer
Technovation Girls provides a practical learning experience in which participants develop a technology project from the initial idea through to the final presentation.
Throughout the programme, participants will have access to:
- Training in coding, design and mobile app development.
- An introduction to entrepreneurship and business model development.
- Personalised mentoring from professionals in the technology and business sectors.
- Teamwork focused on solving real-world challenges through technology.
- Development of leadership, creativity, communication and critical thinking skills.
- The opportunity to take part in the regional final and progress to the next stages of the international competition.
- Access to a global community committed to female talent and innovation.
City Challenge
Each edition, the València City Council, through València Innovation Capital, presents a City Challenge inviting participating teams to develop technological solutions that address a real need within the local community.
Teams that choose to take part in this challenge develop a technological solution aligned with the proposed challenge, using innovation to help build a more innovative, inclusive and sustainable city.
As part of this initiative, València Innovation Capital takes part in the evaluation process as the jury for the City Challenge and presents awards to the winning teams across the programme’s different age categories.
