On September 18 and 19, the city will host the València Silicon Forum. This was announced this morning at the presentation of the second edition of the València Silicon Forum, an event organized by the València Silicon Cluster and the City of València, with the aim of establishing itself as a leading annual forum for the international semiconductor industry.
Paula Llobet, Councilwoman for Tourism, Innovation, Technology, the Digital Agenda, and Investment Attraction, presented the event, where she emphasized that “Valencia and its metropolitan area account for approximately 50% of the country’s human resources in microelectronics and nearly 60% in photonics. This human capital is our main advantage in attracting projects and investment.”
The Valencia Silicon Forum’s mission is to serve as the global meeting place for the semiconductor industry, with a focus on talent management. Currently, more than 50% of the Spanish semiconductor industry’s workforce is concentrated in Valencia, reinforcing the city’s importance as a hub for technological innovation.
Highlights of this 2025 edition include: the presentation of the VLC Chip City Award to Ray Stata, founder of Analog Devices and a historic figure in microelectronics; the participation of the Global Head of Talent at TSMC, a world leader in semiconductors; a panel discussion on urban technology hubs, analyzing how cities can become drivers of innovation; and the 4th meeting of the Spanish Group on the European Chips Act 2.0, which will allow Valencia to contribute to the sector’s legal and financial framework in Europe.
This forum will have a major economic and social impact on the city, attracting investment, creating skilled jobs, and promoting the Valencia brand as a Mediterranean hub for innovation. The Valencia Silicon Forum 2025 thus reaffirms the city’s commitment to leading the global race for talent in semiconductors and positioning itself at the forefront in Europe.
The event will take place on September 18 and 19 at the Bancaja Foundation and is open to professionals, companies, and students interested in becoming part of Valencia’s technology ecosystem.
