On October 29, we will hold an online session to answer questions about the CitCom.ai open call for proposals, provide an overview of the six GovTech challenges, and offer guidance to companies interested in submitting a proposal. The deadline to participate in the call for proposals is November 11.

How can your artificial intelligence solution help improve emergency prevention and management in a city? Which challenge is best suited to your technology? What infrastructure, data, and technical support do you have available to test it in a real-world urban environment?

To answer these and other questions, the European CitCom.ai project is hosting an informational webinar next Thursday, October 29, aimed at startups, SMEs, and companies interested in participating in its open call to validate AI solutions in the city of Valencia.

The session will take place online from 11:15 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. and will provide an opportunity to learn more about the opportunities offered by this initiative, which is being promoted as part of the Valencia City Council’s GovTech Challenges through Valencia Innovation Capital.

Six Urban Challenges to Test AI Solutions

The call for proposals seeks companies with innovative ideas that can help improve prevention, response, and civil protection in the event of emergencies. It is organized into six challenges:

  • Flood forecasting.
  • Resource Management for Firefighting.
  • Identifying individuals who need support.
  • Public emergency alert systems.
  • Shared viewing of resources among operational services.
  • Smart traffic management and crowd detection at large events.

During the webinar, we will explain the scope of these challenges and how to identify the most appropriate one for each solution. We will also present the services, infrastructure, and data offered by the AI Testing and Experimentation Center (TEF) in Valencia to develop and validate experiments under real-world conditions.

How to Prepare and Submit a Proposal

The session will also cover participation requirements, the necessary documentation, the application process, and the evaluation criteria. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions of the CitCom.ai team and the technical committee.

The call for proposals provides for the selection of up to six experiments, each lasting three months and with a maximum grant of 10,000 euros per experiment, excluding VAT, in accordance with the conditions set forth in the guidelines.

The webinar is an opportunity to learn more about the call for proposals and prepare a proposal that aligns with the city’s needs. Attendance at the information session does not replace the submission of the application.
